Jeffery Deaver To Be President Of Mystery Writers Of America For 2017

I am delighted to announce that I will be serving as president of the Mystery Writers of America in 2017.

MWA was formed in 1945 to promote that genre of books that we so love—murder mysteries—and to support new and established authors working in that field. It’s grown into one of the world’s preeminent writers’ organizations, sponsoring the prestigious Edgar Awards every year (yes, named after good old Edgar Allan Poe) and engaging in dozens of educational and literacy programs around the country. You’ll know many of the authors who have been members and held various positions at MWA: Sandra Brown, Lee Child, Harlan Coben, Nelson DeMille, Michael Connelly, Lawrence Block, Donald E. Westlake, Walter Mosley, Sue Grafton, Elmore Leonard, John D. MacDonald, Raymond Chandler, Rex Stout and Anthony Boucher.
